At Loft Boarding Derby all my quotes are a fixed price, so the price quoted is the only price that you will pay.  There are never any hidden extras or VAT to add on top.  The quotation is all inclusive of labour and materials.  All quotations are provided in writing by email following a free no obligation home visit to establish your needs and enable me to calculate your quotation.  There is no hard selling and once I have messaged you to confirm the quotation has been sent, I don’t make any further follow ups and leave it with you to get back to me in your own time.

Unlike my competitors I dont ‘Menu’ price what I do. Loft Boarding Derby quotes are worked out on a materials and labour basis.  The only exception to this is if you have a ‘ladder only installation’ as these prices are fixed and can be found on my Loft Ladder page.

To give you an idea of a typical package, or what can be done in a single day, £750 includes all of the following: 

• Your loft can be transformed with 11.5m² or 123ft² of loft boarding on Loft Leg insulation spacers so no insulation is removed or compressed.  This is about the size of a double bedroom or single garage to put the size into perspective.
• A 2 or 3 Werner/ABRU section aluminium loft ladder will also be installed.  The number of ladder sections is depandant on the floor to ceiling height.
• Finally, a mains wired standard bayonet light with a 100w equivalent LED bulb and switch in the loft will be installed by a fully qualified electrician.

The above is my most popular installation and accounts for around 90% of my installations.  For most people this is ample space and fits comfortably into the most useable loft areas.

By comparison the rate charged by a local competitor is £1038 based on a fixed price of 11.5m2 at £60/m² (£690); a 2 section loft ladder at £180; and a mains wired loft light from £168. This makes me more than 25% cheaper and a saving of £288 for providing exactly the same service.  If as part of the service you need a new UPVc loft hatch I charge an additional £40 for a like for like swop (competitor comparison charge £120). How can that be? Well, it takes me between 10-30 minutes to change a loft hatch, so when completing this work on the same day I only charge the additional materials cost and no labour.

I can ensure my prices are extremely competitive as I’m a 100% independent trader, not a Franchisee.  If you opt for a company that is part of a Franchise, the Franchisee has to invest a large a sum of money to use the franchise label. Additionally, the Franchisee has to pay up to 10% of their profits to the Franchisor, register for VAT, as well as cover ongoing advertising costs etc.  Unfortunately all of these overheads and expenses are passed onto the customers in the way of higher prices. As an established sole trader this does not apply to me and my reputation speaks for itself (see my about me page).
