At Loft Boarding Derby, to keep things simple I offer two main types of loft ladders.  I only install ladders from reputable well established manufacturers, based around the Derby area.  I do not install unbranded, untraceable cheap imports.

2 OR 3 SECTION ALUMINIUM

The first is a 2 or 3 section aluminium Werner/Abru Loft Ladder.  This sturdy and practical aluminium loft ladder is a perfect loft-access solution, extending from 2 or 3 overlapping sections that is affixed to the inside of the loft to be lowered down when access is needed. ‘D’ shaped rungs provide added safety and comfort when entering or leaving the loft.

• The cost of installing a 2 or 3 section Werner/Abru aluminium ladder and replacement UPVc loft hatch with hatch enlargement is £250. Competitor pricing starts at £312*.

TIMBER FOLDING STAIRCASE

The second is a timber folding loft ladder/staircase and depend on your requirements will either be manufactured by Fakro or Keylite.  This is the luxury or deluxe option for people who require frequent and easy access into their lofts without the need for installing a costly and space consuming fixed staircase.  When closed the ladder folds on top of the draft proofed insulated door so no clearance space at all is required in your loft and very little swing space for operation.  In order to maximise comfort and ease of operation when lowering and stowing they operate with a spring assisted mechanism, safety handrail and non-slip feet.

• The cost of installing a Fakro or Keylite tiber loft ladder is £350-£375.  Competitor pricing starts at £480 for an equalivent ladder from another manufacturer*.

OTHER OPTIONS

For the majority of people one of the above options is more than suitable.  In situations where they may not be suitable, we are also able to offer telescopic or concertina loft ladder options.
